I. Blade Battery Concept
First, let's correct a misconception: some people believe that blade batteries are a newly developed type, different from ternary lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries. In fact, the "blade" refers only to the shape of a single battery cell; it essentially uses lithium iron phosphate batteries.
Blade batteries "flatten" individual cells, increasing their width and thinning them, resulting in dimensions of 960mm*90mm*13.5mm. The internal structure is stacked.

BYD's battery structure design borrows the principle of honeycomb aluminum plates, using structural adhesive to fix the cell between two layers of aluminum plates, allowing the cell itself to act as a structural component, increasing the overall system strength.

II. Blade Battery Principle
The blade battery is a new type of lithium-ion battery. Its principle utilizes the migration of lithium ions between electrode materials to achieve charging and discharging.
The positive electrode material of a blade battery is a material that can absorb lithium ions, such as carbon fiber or metal ion-absorbing materials, while the negative electrode material is a material that can release lithium ions, such as metal oxides or metal ion-releasing materials.
(1) When the battery is charging, lithium ions are released from the negative electrode material, pass through the electrolyte, and are then absorbed by the positive electrode material, thus achieving battery charging.
(2) When the battery is discharging, lithium ions are released from the positive electrode material, pass through the electrolyte, and are then absorbed by the negative electrode material, thus achieving battery discharging.
III. Advantages and Disadvantages of Blade Batteries
(1) The advantages of blade batteries are their small size, light weight, large capacity, higher energy density, good cycle performance, multiple charge-discharge cycles, and long service life.

(2) The disadvantages of blade batteries are their higher cost and susceptibility to temperature fluctuations. They are prone to overcharging and overheating at high temperatures, thus requiring the installation of temperature sensors and temperature protection devices to ensure safe battery use.
